There are three aspects to Premium Funding;
Pupil Premium is allocated to schools based on the number of pupils who have been eligible for free school meals at anytime in the last six years. Pupil Premium is allocated to help schools to achieve better outcomes for its disadvantaged pupils. The funding allocated in 2014/15 was £1300 per pupil, in 2015/2016 it was £1,320 which stayed at £1,320 for 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19.
P.E. Premium is allocated to schools based on the number of pupils in the school. P.E. Premium is allocated to ensure that all pupils have access to high quality physical education and sport.
Premium Plus is allocated to the school based on the number of pupils adopted from care on or after December 30th 2005, or that left care under a Special Guardianship Order on or after the same date. Premium Plus is allocated to ensure that these vulnerable pupils are suported appropriately to meet their emotional, social and educational needs and achieve the best outcomes. The funding allocated in 2014/15 was £1900 per child. This has remained the same for 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19.
