Key Worker Provision

Dear Parents and Carers,

As you know, we are in unprecedented times. The school is now closing and will remain closed for the foreseeable future. The exception to this will be for key workers who have been identified in order to keep the country going.

I must stress, the school will only be open for a very small number of pupils. The most recent scientific advice on how to further limit the spread of COVID-19 is clear. If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading.

That is why the government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend.

It is important to underline that schools remain safe places for children. But the fewer children making the journey to school, and the fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in wider society and the staff in school.

Please click on the box below if you believe you are a key worker, you must fill in immediately, even if you have already spoken to the office. I must stress that this is to be completed if you have no alternative – the safest place for you and your child is at home. We must take this guidance seriously. The numbers of cases of people catching Covid-19 are extraordinary. We will ask that even if your child has an EHCP plan to consider if you can keep them at home particularly if they have underlying health concerns. We are operating our school with dramatically reduced staff who are also attempting to maintain home learning.

If the school is overwhelmed (and we have seen this in other sectors across the country) then it will not be able to provide this service. Please consider carefully; this is not simply childcare, it is designed to keep the country going.

Once we have received all of the responses we will partially open the school to invited children. Our job will be to audit the responses and assess what is practical and manageable: simply filling in the form does not guarantee you will be invited back to school. Unless you hear from the school assume that it is closed to your child. Please do not come to the school on Monday as, regretfully, your child will be turned away unless you have been invited.

We are all being asked to make challenging decisions and please be minded that the staff who operating are intentionally not isolating themselves and potentially exposing themselves to Covid-19 in a way that the rest of society is not being asked to do. This is an extraordinary sacrifice the country is asking our teaching staff to make.

We will do our best to complete this as fast as possible. Please indicate what times you need; if you only need Monday and Tuesday, for example, then do not send your child for the other days. This will help greatly.

Thank you for your patience and the many kind words. I am sure you fully appreciate that, even though the doors are closed, the school teams are working hard to try and keep moral up and the country moving.

God bless you at this challenging time.

Welcome to Holy Trinity CE School

Thank you for taking an interest in Holy Trinity School for your children. Holy Trinity is a multi-cultural one-form entry Church of England school including a nursery. As a small school we are a close and caring community, where every child matters. We believe that while educational standards are extremely important, so is the development of each and every child as an individual. We take great pride in ensuring that our children are safe, happy, comfortable and learning!

We believe that the Christian values of Koinonia, Compassion and Forgiveness reflect our school vision. British Values and Christian values underpin our daily life and make sure that we treat each other with respect and care for each other.

Our parents and carers are very much part of our community, whether it be watching their child’s class assembly, attending one of the many social or fund raising events organised by our active parents association (HTSA) or joining in with Stay and Read.

We warmly invite you to arrange a visit the school so that you can see for yourselves the happy, friendly and stimulating environment our children thrive in.
